Which Tippmann 98 Custom Paintball Gun should I buy?

Ok… I am looking at the line of Tippmann Paintball guns and I have no clue which one I should purchase. I noticed there is a Tippmann 98 custom basic, Tippmann 98 custom Pro Platinum, Tippmann 98 custom Platinum… Then there are some with A.C.T… What is the difference between all of these? I am so confused haha. I am wanting to spend less than $200… What would be my best bet and why?

You’ll be fine with any version that has ACT, or “Anti-Chop Technoology”.
The basic version is just that, the bare mninimum, no frills 98C, and there’s nothing wrong with it.
The Custom Pro has a stock double trigger, 11″ barrel, and 2″ (?) drop forward.
The Platinum versions have the frills of the Custom Pro, a redesigned rear sight and top 1913 rail, and the receiver breaks down into three pieces, which I like, but isn’t nessecary. It just simplifies normal maintainence or modification, such as if you need to clean the front section due to a break, or change the battery of an E-Grip.

I use a cheap basic 98 Custom, made before they introduced the ACT versions, that I purchased as a package on eBay, spending $150 or so, and saving over $100. Works just fine.
No matter what you buy, pick up a new barrel as soon as possible. The stock barrels on Tippmann markers…I’d rather be physically beaten with one than be forced to use it.
