integrity of brass adapter and regulator – psi rating?

i am constructing something right now and am planning to use a 12gram co2 tank to power it. it produces about 800 psi, and i am using paintball gun parts.

regulators are rated for the gas they’re used for. You can’t mix and match. If you plan on using 800 psi from co2 you need to use a co2 regulator for the type of tank you plan on using. This really shouldn’t be a problem they don’t cost that much. If you use a regulator from some other gas that is bottled at a much lower pressure you’re in for big problems. If you use a regulator from another type of gas the seals might not hold up over time.

70-80 psi really isn’t that much. As long as you don’t use plastic you should be fine. If you plan on using a adapter before the regulator the biggest problem you will have is making sure you use the correct type of fittings for the systems your using. If you use the same type of fitting from the same material you should be ok. It’s still best to use a regulator right on the tank then you don’t have to worry.
