what barrel is best for the tippmann a-5 paintball gun?

I wouldn’t buy the Flatline. While it does shoot further, the ball won’t break outside of a certain distance (which most normal barrels can easily achieve). But yes, you want a barrel that is 16″ at the very most, preferably 14″. A barrel kit would be nice, but not necessary. Range is only increased by gimmick barrels like the Flatline and the Apex, but as I said, the extra range is worthless since the ball won’t break outside of normal range. Accuracy is only affected by paint to bore match. You want to use paintballs that are going to roll partly into the barrel, then stop, and will fly out if you blow them out like a blowgun. If they roll out, the paintballs are too small. If the just get stuck and can’t be blown out, the paintballs are too large. With a good match, you’re accuracy will be as good as it can get without taking shooter limitations into effect.

I personally use a 16″ J&J 1 piece for my A5 because I use the extra 2 inches to stick through brush and trees. I’m not sure of the bore size, but RPS Stingers work amazing with it. If you have a break in your barrel, the ceramic coating on the inside helps to clear it out by simply shooting through it. After 4 or 5 shots, you should be shooting accurately again. It’s also quiet, but doesn’t affect my gas efficiency too much, which is great.
